At Treetops Day Nursery we pride ourselves on delivering a high level of early years childcare and education to all our children regardless of their background needs
Our nursery environment focuses on encouraging children's independence and choice to support their learning but more importantly their self-esteem. We do this by encouraging exploration, investigations and fun through freedom of choice, child centred activities and adult support and interaction.
The nursery environment also ensures that nursery activities and resources aid children in achieving their early learning goals (Early Years Foundation).
Planning for our children's nursery education starts with the child. The nursery team observes their key daily activities and make notes based on their observations in order to plan how they can further extend and support the child's learning and development in specific areas.
Our key nursery staff use their own observations to plan the following days or weeks activities, recording both adult lead and the child's lead activities and ideas.
Parents are also encouraged to contribute to their child's learning through various different strategies adopted by the nursery.
Children's own work and creations are valued through discussions, display and recognition.
Staff also inform parents on a daily basis what their child's day was like, what they have being doing and what they have eaten to enable parents to discuss and share these early years' experiences with their child.
We encourage parents to spare time and arrange meetings once every so often to go through their child's learning journals to find out what they are doing, what they are learning and also to meet their child's key nursery worker in order to build a more closely observed format and environment.
